Isabella Quezada, Warren This member has been a nonstop great supporter of her home club activities. She responds to Warren's Reminds even though she really doesn't have to and she is a really friendly person. She has attended most of her club's events as a freshman which shows her enthusiasm to help her community. She is a young soul who is an ideal member of her club. Great job, Isabella! |
Officer of the Month:
Derrick Yang Derrick has been an most important officer when it came to Induction, Fall Rally, UNICEF Trick or Treat, and our PTP donations for his home club. He's spent many hours after school helping count money, filling out Expenditure Approvals, Purchase Order forms, and organizing everything financially. If it weren't for him, his club would not have been able to successfully donate to PTP, Trick or Treat, or even attend Fall Rally. Keep it up, Derrick! |
Club of the Month:

Mary Kristine isn't afraid to reach out to board members, and ask about future events. She has been super enthusiastic at recent club events, including the Long Beach Aloha Run. Keep it up Mary Kristine, I'm rooting for you! |

Linda Marquez The Key Club of Linda Marquez has come to a fantastic start for the beginning of their school year. They have made clear that they have strong ties to their Faculty and Kiwanis advisors, a key part in maintaining good club standing. The board of Linda Marquez has also demonstrated and shared that they have planned well for their future, also a key part os building their club as a whole. Great job everyone, we're all very proud of you! |
Member of the Month:
Christie Kim, Cerritos Christie goes above and BEEyond in everything she does. She is always ready to take on whatever comes her way, and to help out anyone when it is needed. Not only is she ready to work to make a change, but she smiles all the way through! Christie is an extremely kind and friendly Key Clubber, a definite role model and the definition of a Key Player. |
Officer of the Month:
Michelle Nguyen, Artesia Michelle has put forth amazingly noticeable efforts to the expansion of her club membership and the number of events that her and her board together. She's always open to reaching out for help, willing to cooperate, and receiving advice from the Division Leadership Team to assist her home club. Thank you Michelle. |
Club of the Month:
South Gate From having a little number of service hours recorded in the previous month, to having served over 50 hours and an event attendance of over 20 members, South Gate Key Club shows the growth in potential for their club this year. With board members that are extremely close, they show spirit in what they can accomplish together. Keep going South Gate, we BEElieve in you! |
Member of the Month:
Hubert Henzon, Lakewood Hubert has constantly gone to events from the beginning, and I remember because I would always say "Hi"! He is always kind, and willing to help with anything. He may be a little on the quiet side, but he is definitely a member to be recognized after all his work throughout the years. KUDOS to you Hubert! |
Officer of the Month:
Gina Maglanoc, Lakewood Gina always submits her MRFs early, and filled out completely. If I ever ask her to make changes, she does them timely and thoroughly. What really sticks out to me, is how attentive she is to the group communication within the club board of Lakewood. She's super friendly, and spirited in her own way. Super duper job Gina! |
Club of the Month:
Downey When I visited one of Downey's board meetings, it was very structured, and two Kiwanis advisors were present. It went smoothly with plenty of suggestions and participation across their board. They were all open to new ideas, and had sturdy plans to make their upcoming year a great one. Great job, Downey! You're going to do fantastic. |
Member of the Month:
Raymond Luu, Cerritos Raymond has started coming out and participating to more events since the summer started. He was present at both shifts for the Lakewood Block Party and has been constantly messaging asking when our next event will be. We have high hopes for him and feel like he will be an active member for the next school year. |
Officer of the Month:
Samantha Escobedo, Warren This officer has participated in many of our events after being newly installed into our board. She is one of the first to respond to any questions I ask to the entire board and she is a team player. She is really sweet, bubble and excited for any event that we do. She also brings great ideas to our board meetings. She is great at posting about our events on social media as well which inspires more people to take interest in our club. |
Club of the Month:
Cerritos They're bananas. The members of Cerritos have a crazy spirit, always open, and are progressively becoming stronger. They were open when volunteering at the Lakewood Block Party, and Officer Training Conference, and just in general growing together as a club. |
Member of the Month:
Sasha Poeung, Lakewood Over the past few months, Sasha has shown dedication in coming out to service events for Lakewood. She currently has the most service hours as a general member. She shows club spirit by wearing her Division shirt/Kiwanis One Day shirt to general meetings. At events, I would see her work passionately and manages time to make sure her tasks are completed when volunteering. After seeing her run for Treasurer, she did not give up Key Club after losing the position. She has been able to grow through Key Club and socializes with people. She applied for Event Committee, but sadly did not get the position. She was one of the active members who deserved to be on committee than the others who were appointed/inactive. She even attended a Kiwanis meeting! Go Sasha! |
Officer of the Month:
Nikita Advani, Cerritos Nikita is always there to help me whenever I need her. During the banquet planning process, she was able to incorporate many new ideas and was always available to help. She completed her tasks and went above and beyond. She's helped me deal with all of the ASB paperwork and with her help everything went smoothly. |
Club of the Month:
Lakewood From what I have seen at DCMs, I feel that Lakewood deserves this award because they seem to gather a lot of volunteer participation at division events and meetings. The club members also seem very cheerful and outgoing which increases the Key Club spirit. |
Member of the Month:
Gisselle Esparza, Warren Gisselle has impressed her club by attending the most recent of division events, even without the reward of service hours for attendance. She is becoming more involved within events within her home club, like the Downey Food Help event that Downey Key Club participates in every Saturday. Gisselle has a positive energy and attitude in all her services, so don't be afraid to say "Hi", and congratulate her on being Division 13 North's Member of the Month! |
Officer of the Month:
Andrea Calderon, Huntington Park Andrea has stood out as president in how formal all sorts of contact with her are presented. All of her e-mails and text messages are great examples of professionalism, to the extent that makes me feel the need to always be formal too! She's done a great job in pushing her club, and making connections to help Huntington Park reach nearly 400 hours of service in the past month alone. Kudos Andrea, you're doing a great job so far! |
Club of the Month:
Huntington Park For a while now, Huntington Park has grown so much. With the number of projects put together successfully, and the number of hours given to their community and beyond, the club has soared this past month. They have networked with other organizations to build stronger relations with those they serve, providing an example to the division on how to reach out and take action in service. They have not gone weak in weekly projects, and have made sure to have 5 events in one month and beyond. Congrats Huntington Park, you're doing fantastic! |
